Weekly Divisions

The purpose of the following rules is to
provide a guideline that will ensure the
safety of the participants and create fair
and equitable standards for conducting
Sprint Car competition events.
These rules
apply to each competitor, owner, mechanic
and crewmember. All participants are
expected to know and comply with these
rules. Ignorance of the rules is not an
acceptable excuse for non-compliance.
A.
Driver
Eligibility:
Age Requirements:
1)
To be
eligible to compete in race events, a driver
must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
or, sixteen year old with a signed,
notarized waiver, but may be required to
pass a driving competency demonstration.
Rookie Requirements:
1)
To be
considered for rookie of the year honors, a
driver must have previously competed in less
than five (5) races and:

Will start
at the back of the lineup (heats and mains)
for at least three events.
3)
Must have a yellow “Rookie flag” attached to
the rear of the roll cage.
4)
Will be
considered for “Rookie flag” removal after
three events.
B. SAFETY:
The following minimum safety equipment
specifications are mandatory.
1)
Ignition
kill switch.
2)
Fuel
shut-off valve.
3)
Fuel tank
vent check valve.
4)
Quick
release steering wheel hub.
5)
Approved
roll cage padding.
6)
Drive line
hoop or strap.
7)
Helmets:
No older than Snell 2000
8)
Fire
retardant driver uniforms: A minimum of
double layer suit with Nomex underwear,
socks and gloves are required.
9)
Approved
safety seat belts: Three (3) inch lap belt
and shoulder harness with a two (2) inch
crotch strap are required. Must be equipped
with a single point quick release mechanism
and may not be more than three (3) years old
(by manufacturer’s label specifications).
10)
Arm
restraints.
11)
A minimum
of two (2) throttle return springs are
required: One attached to the throttle toe
strap and one attached to the injector
butterfly linkage.
12)
Fuel
tanks must be equipped with an approved
safety bladder.
13)
Bumpers
must be securely attached. NO rivets or
cotter pins.
C. Radios:
1)
Raceiver brand racing radios are required.
2)
Radios may
be purchased from Hollywood Hills Speedway
for $179.00.
3)
Radios
will be brought to the drivers meeting and
checked at roll call.
D. Chassis
Specifications:
1)
Only Sprint car design, 4130 steel tubular
chassis are allowed.
2)
Minimum wheelbase allowed is 84”.
3)
Only Sprint style bodies are allowed.
4)
Minimum weight without driver is 1,250
pounds after the race. Any added weight
must have car number marked on it and be
mounted to the main chassis (cars losing a
weight on the track will be disqualified).
E. Engine
Specifications:
1)
Steel blocks only
2)
Maximum displacement is 410 cubic inches.
3)
No down nozzles allowed.
4)
No traction
control devices allowed.
5)
Methanol alcohol fuel only (no additives!)
6)
Mufflers are mandatory and must be intact at
all times.
7)
Any car losing a muffler will be
disqualified
F. Injection
Restrictors:
1)
Restrictors are mandatory for engines larger
than 366 cubic inches.
2)
If you don’t own a set of restrictors, the
track will provide a set.
3)
It is the driver or car owner’s
responsibility to declare engine
displacement to the Tech or Competition
director.
4)
Heat race qualifiers and the top finishers
in the main event will checked for
restrictors, weight and spec tire as they
come off the track.
5)
The top finishers in the main event will
also be checked for engine displacement.
G. Tires and
Wheels:
1)
Maximum wheel width is eighteen (18) inches.
2)
Right rear wheel must be equipped with a
bead lock system.
3)
Right rear tire is the Hoosier 105-16.0 x 15
medium, ASCS spec tire.

Hollywood
Hills Speedway officials will have final
authority in all matters pertaining to the
interpretation and enforcement of these
rules.
In no way
will the rules be interpreted to allow a car
to be constructed or operated in an unsafe
manner that poses a danger to the operator,
spectators or other competitors.
Drivers who
repeatedly have problems controlling their
car may be required to start at the rear of
the line up until they can demonstrate safe
trouble free handling or their vehicle to
the satisfaction of the competition
director.
